Threading a mechanical sewing machine with a set in bobbin

A set-in bobbin, usually found in older mechanical sewing machines, is a bit different from threading a drop-in bobbin. You have to put the bobbin into the bobbin case outside of the machine, pull the thread in place, then insert it into the machine. After that, pull up the thread with the needle before you start sewing.

Geraldine Lombardo - The fabric was turned inside out to stitch the elastic then turned back to the right side for a topstitch ...

May I ask what stitch setup you used on the serger? Looks like a four thread setup - would you also use a three thread flatlock stitch?
I use a four thread setup - no need to change the settings for a little elastic :-) I'm not sure a 3-thread flatlock would hold up well enough. If you try it, please let me know;-)
do u removed the knife?
Just like DeeDee I didn't know about stretching the elastic tape before using it and ended up with a gathered neckline. Thank you Maria you're tutorial has been a great help.
